Gabe Raines is a composer, visual artist, and sound poet. His main project, Sun Castle, aims to merge sound and space by creating an actual map of an imaginary castle using audio recordings. Performances often include extremely heavy fog cover with lasers and magic glasses, in an attempt to create a vague otherworldly space where the audience’s imagination can play. Recently he has developed a hybrid DMX / digital visual system, incorporating warped mylar and an array of reflective and transparent objects, which he uses to create visuals in real time. He also organizes multichannel audio shows in Brooklyn under the name Future Forever, and publishes sound poetry through his own Enlilylyxyl Press.
